You come across as some one who has no idea of what its like to be poor, some one who has never had the misfortune to have fallen on hard times.some one if hard times do come your way will be first in line for all that supposed free stuff which may sound good from a FOX perspective but in reality is living with next to nothing for perhaps a long time.
Best way to get the feeling for being poor is take 2 weeks off work, walk out your door with the clothes on your back and see how you survive in the streets with all that supposed free stuff, and dont bring any credit cards or ATM cards or cell phones and no going home.If you survived you'd have a whole new appreciation for what its like to be poor..

One of the most important stories in the U.S. economy these days is the rise of extreme inequality.

Over the past 30 years, a larger and larger portion of America's income growth has gone to those in the top 10% of incomes, and especially those in the top 1%.

This is a major change from the prior 60 years, in which the top 10% and the bottom 90% shared in the income gains.

Interesting.
It's called an emerging world economy. Our larger companies are now global, which means the competition for the best and brightest who can run these mufti-billion dollar mega companies is also world-wide, and they go to whoever pays them the most. If any company or corporation caps their salary and compensation at $500,000, then people who can earn more then that will pass them by, and those companies will end up with the world's 4th string, junior varsity leftovers.

Ask your self how great a football team the San Francisco 49ers would be, if they capped all salaries at $500,000 a year. Ask yourself if actors like Keanu Reeves would accept an offer to star in a movie if they were only offered $500,000 instead of $10 - $30 million.

The point is that the poor, and not so poor, and even the not poor at all, get soooo much help and assistance, that it has been made much more bearable then in the past. It's almost comfortable to do nothing all day, and get paid for doing it too.

I'm not on the same page with this getting everything for free logic, if i dont pay my rent i'll be out on the streets, if i dont put gas in my car or make the payments i'll be with no car in a hurry, if i dont buy food my family gonna starve. sure there are social programs out there call them a safety net if you will but most of them arent instantaneous you have to apply for them,a process that could take months, you may think being poor is just about getting all this "free stuff" but i'll guarantee its no place you wanna be.
Taking care of the poor in your society? its about doing whats right..
