Why do liberals think that just because someone has a different view, that the conservatives "hate" them?
It looks like it is the liberals who "hate" anyone who doesn't agree with them.
Many intellectuals have no common sense. They wallow in theory on things they and have no real experience in themselves.
Here's a hint: "common sense" does not have much relevance to Evolutionary Theory or Global Warming. But to conservatives, their exclusive access to this wisdom grants them authority over the entire scientific community.

Many THINK they are better and smarter then anyone else.
"Have you ever wondered why conservatives are significantly less likely to be college educated?" Perfect example and I doubt if true.
49% of self identified liberals hold college degrees, compared to only 28% of social conservatives.
I would guess because over the past couple of decades intellectuals come across as elitist snobs who know what's best for everybody else.
Hint hint: don't pretend conservatives don't think the same way about their pet projects, such as abortion and illegal drugs. The difference is that the "elitist snobs" actually have an authoritative basis from which to judge issues such as Global Warming and Evolution, while very few pro-life leaders are doctors, for example.

Also because they always seem to want to spend other people's money on lofty sounding liberal projects.
Just dismiss them as "lofty sounding". Never mind the scientific data backing them up, because we all know that scientists are just part of the Evil Liberal Conspiracy to destroy American values and give gays rights. And never mind that liberals are the most affluent group in America, and would therefore be paying said progressive tax rates themselves.
If you're trying to prove that conservatives respect intellectuals, using proper grammar might be a start.
Furthermore, conservatives are less likely than liberals or moderates to profess a "great deal of trust" in Science, and are less likely than liberals to have a college degree.
Just another stereotype, you have a drawer full, eh

I know the quality of debate here on P&OC is poor, but opening up a topic with a non sequitur with a loaded title is poor form, even for this forum. I believe that's called trolling but I could be wrong
The title is not a stereotype, and can be backed with empirical data; studies consistently demonstrate that conservatives are significantly less likely than liberals to profess a great deal of trust in science, to have high IQs and to be college educated. It is a generalization, but this board's fiscal and social conservatives who do not fall into this group should try to justify their movement's typical lack of respect for complex thought, rather than indignantly whine about being misrepresented.
Have you ever wondered why conservatives are significantly less likely to be college educated? Why conservative politicians openly ridicule intellectuals and college graduates as "snobs"? Why conservatives deny Evolutionary Theory, Global Warming, Big Bang Cosmology and basic scientific facts? Why Fox News regularly disrespects and mocks scientists it brings on its show? Why the scientific community and acadameia are overwhelmingly liberal?
I blame the general decline of America's education system on the anti-intellectualism stemming largely from the Right. If only they'd fund scientific ventures as much as they fund the military...
Because facts threaten their baseless views.
