Maybe you don't realize it but the pipeline was about jobs, had little to do with energy prices. Tell me you don't actually believe that the pipeline would lower energy prices
What is the president doing about it while not spending money?
MPG on vehicles is doubling. When you used to get 16MPG for your car, you now can get 32MPG. This means your gas bill is cut in half AND government did not spend any money. It's a massive savings for our gasoline bills and it cuts pollution and it cuts our dependency on oil by half.
If the GOP had their way, we would be getting 12MPG.
Also, pulling out of Iraq cost the USA less money than staying in Iraq. It saved billions and billions to get out of Iraq. If we had a GOP president instead of Obama, we would still be in Iraq and the GOP would refuse to leave because they didnt want to "lose".
Romney would likely have us in another war within 2 years. He is so inept at foreign policy, he might even get us into a war with a country that we are on good terms with at the moment. Another war could double our debt with no end in sight.
Gas mileage has little to do with the government and more to do with the price of gas. Yes, the government does occasionally pass some guideline calling for vehicles to get better gas mileage. But let's be honest here:
In 2008, people were scrambling for high MPG cars since gas was high. Then, gas dropped. What happened? People quickly went back to buying SUVs, pickup trucks, etc. We don't have anyone in government to "thank" for getting better gas mileage. It is a personal choice. Either drive a more efficient vehicle or do not.
