Civil Rights Icon Al Sharpton to Keynote CAIR Banquet

On Saturday, September 29, Rev. Al Sharpton, one of the nation’s most respected civil rights leaders, will offer the keynote address at CAIR’s annual banquet at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Va.

"Reverend Sharpton is a passionate defender of civil rights and a life-long advocate for social justice," said CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad. "I invite American Muslims to hear what he has to say about the lessons learned and parallels between the current challenges faced by our community and those faced by other minority communities throughout our nation’s history."

...
With the theme "Upholding Our Constitution, Defending Our Faith," the evening banquet will also feature Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) and Imam Siraj Wahhaj. Comedian Azhar Usman will provide entertainment.

Preceding the banquet, CAIR will host its day-long leadership skills training conference with workshops such as "Answering Tough Questions About Shari," "Strategies for Challenging Anti-Islam Legislation and Campaigns," and "Maximizing the Muslim Vote in the 2012 Elections."

Nothing like speaking to a group while their people attack our embassies. Thanks for the support Al.

Some CAIR history...

Administration admits to ‘hundreds’ of meetings with jihad-linked group

President Barack Obama’s deputies are holding “hundreds” of closed-door meetings with a jihad-linked lobbying group that is widely derided by critics as a U.S. arm of the theocratic Muslim Brotherhood.

...
CAIR is “the group with the worst record of deception and the deepest ties to terrorists,” said Steven Emerson, the director of the Investigative Project on Terrorism, which tracks the public activities of Islamist lobbying groups.

“The White House is so clueless and/or compromised” when dealing with the brotherhood, said Robert Spencer, the author of several books about Islam and jihad. CAIR, he said, is “the political front of a radically repressive, Jew-hating, woman-hating organization.”

MUSLIM CHARITIES: MODERATE NON-PROFITS OR ELABORATE DECEPTIONS?

The Council for American Islamic Relations received a significant portion of its start-up funding and support from the Holy Land Foundation and the Islamic Association of Palestine, both known Hamas terrorist organization supporters.

...
In 2005, board member Hamza Yusuf said that America, “is facing a terrible fate, and the reason for that is because the country stands condemned. It stands condemned like Europe stood condemned because of what it did. And lest it forget, Europe suffered two world wars after conquering the Muslim lands.”

...
Siraj Wahhaj, 2005 board member prayed that America’s “‘democracy [would] crumble,’ clearing the way for an Islamic theocracy.”

This guy is on the event speaker list.

How he not only got past the Tawana Brawley debacle but actually thrived to the point to where he was considered a viable US Presidential candidate is astounding.
