you're right, it was liberals who created the term "race". They are definitely not tolerant and bigot. They are definitetly the party that is 90% white, male and old. Oh wait, thats the republicans.

I'll only mention race if its relevant to the discussion, like this one. Most normal people can acknowledge somebody is a different race, you guys seem to ones having a problem with it. Obama is half white and half black, buts mainly because of the historical nature of his election. Tiger woods is mixed, but he is called black because golf is mostly a white sport, so anytime somebody does something great, who isn't white, another race will take credit for it.
Except for medicine I can't imagine any discussion where race would be relevant. And in medicine it makes more sense to speak of ethnic groups rather than races as there can be different dispositions to certain illnesses among black people, depending on which ethnicity they are.
Some Tamils for instance are just as dark as Africans, but genetically they are very far from being African. The same goes for Australian aboriginals.

Dude, you're acting like talking about race is some taboo subject. You can easily have a conversation where you bring up somebody's race without the conversation starting a race war. I've had conversations where I mentioned my wife's race, and it was nothing more than that. I don't need to only talk about medicine to bring up race. Its like you are scared to say, "he is black".

I believe notions of race existed well before the creation of modern American liberalism.

But thanks for the chuckles anyway, LOL.

Not scared. I just don't see the point in saying something like that. It's like saying so and so is wearing blue jeans or has red hair. What's the point? Anyone who is not blind can see the other people's pigment density without me telling them.
I just don't like speaking about other people behind their backs. And why would you say to a black person 'you are black'?

It should be obvious. Liberals want to create an imaginary distinction in order to create division. Look at all the laws liberals have concocted solely based upon the ridiculous notion that somehow skin pigmentation makes a difference. Everything from Affirmative Action to Hate Crimes. Liberals have a vested interest in the fictitious term "race."

Just b/c there's no biological basis for race doesn't mean there's no social basis for race.

You're missing the point. Black, white, yellow, red, etc. are all arbitrary categorizations whose definitions change over time. A case in point is that the Irish in America were once considered to be non-white regardless of the color of their skin. Now, Americans of Irish descent are considered to be white.

Of course, I don't expect you to get the point based on the dogmatism exhibited in your rantings, er uh, postings.

this goes to my major point, you believe that mentioning that somebody is X is talking behind their back, so it seems like you are scared to mention race. I'm not sure how you came to the conclusion that I would say "I'm black" to another black person, so I'll just ignore that. Race hardly ever comes up in most of conversations with people, but I don't avoid it like the black plague, nor do I believe I'm talking behind someboy's back because I say he/she is white.
