Art2ro they wouldn't kill themselves off anymore than u.s. citizens kill themselves off. the middle east has existed as a civilization long before anyone knew north and south America existed. the U.s. does need to stop meddling in foreign affairs we have all the resources and capabilities to make everything we need domestically.

Are you missing the part where the US created many of the problems in the middle east?
This is not a black/white scenario, then again, nothing is.

I was just agreeing with the previous post with the same POVs. So jump all over them too for their remarks and not just mine!
I don't need a history lessen if you mean the the soldiers who died in all U.S. Civil Wars, crisis overseas, drug wars and across the South U.S. border.
The Middle East has a long time of never ending wars with their neighboring borders and will continue til the end of time, because it's in their culture!
The U.S. just didn't know any better in not to stick their nose in the affairs of the Muslims in the Middle East and now look what is happening today after all these years of diplomacy and for what? For the oil and human rights? Yeah right!

I don't even care what Americans think of America, so i definitely don't care about what outsiders think.

Polls indicate that anti-Americanism stems from a variety of grievances, including US policy towards the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, American wars in the Middle East, and US backing for friendly dictators.
These numbers mean very little if nearly all information from the outside of their areas or countries is controlled by ther gov't. In many of these countries the news is controlled by the gov't. Thus its highly censored or highly one sided. Then you have the internet. The gov't has the ability to block the internet. So again information flow is controlled. As as FYI a Black Box satellite add on can be purchased on the black market there so some can get real information off of non-arab gov't controlled satellites. This is how many of the photos of the atrocities happening is Syria has been getting out.

In their educational system, their taught to have grievances. Democracy is a four letter work. But if you list the items that make up a democracy they do want it (just not to the extent the US has it - there is too much of a good thing). Just don't say the D word. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict means very little to them. They know neither and really don't care. American wars: They look at from a tribal point of view. Since the British & French had colonies in these areas pre-WW2, the US is seen in the same bad light. George H. Bush dealt with Iraq tribaly. He went in, made his point and left. George W. Bush went in and got us tangled in numerous tribal matters that the US still can't get out of without leaving a country on the brink of civil war. As to dictators, they see them as the leading tribal group put in place by tribal conflict. The US gov't still hasn't learned this, but Obama is coming close by staying out of their conflicts (IMHO I think Libya was a payback for Lockerbie, but thats my opinion).

As to Israel itself. They have been demonized for so many years that they fear to allie themselves with them. It dates back in some areas all the way to 1400 years ago when a Jewish tribe in Saudia Arabia refused to follow Mohammad and his followers, but the demonization didn't come into place until the early 1900's where it was used to rally the people in the ME in a common cause. Think about it, by then the Christians were nearly completely removed from the region before they started on the Jews. The large amount of Christians in Egypt, Syria & Lebanon are there because of their proximaty to the Mediterranian trade routes of years gone by and not their relation to other Arab countries. The Jews of Iran are not demonized for the most part because under the Shah they were not educated to be so. So there they are seen just as another tribe. But Irans gov't demonizes Israel itself and not the Jews (they are taught that these are not really Jews as they are not of the book).

There were Muslims Axis sympathizers but then again there were Axis sympathizers in the Baltic States. Next time, do your research before you go around spouting this kind of nonsense.
At that time there are very few countries in the ME. Most of it was called the Ottoman Empire up to WW1. After that many were part of mandates that were treated as colonies of Britain and France. But there were multiple large tribal groups allied to the Nazis especially in North Africa. The countries/mandates to the east of the TransJordan river were made better deals than the Nazis could offer. So next time, explain the errors rather than attacking the errors.

That is true and the US is not the World's police man and it does not have the resources to do so.

Really?

How would you feel if another country was attacking the different states in the US?
Remember 9-11? THAT'S why we went after Afghanistan cause Osama and his boys were hiding there. Iraq IMHO was a mistake tho keeping a gun pointed at Iran is def Ok.

You can't be surprised that Muslim countries don't like the US.

You also can't be surprised that Obama failed in his pledge to bridge the gaps with Muslim countries.
