Surely you are referring to the civil rights movement. The only "people" I've seen use it for their own selfish, agenda-driven purposes are illegals who protest and demonstrate to stay in this country and claim that their "rights" are being denied them and all to often compare their plight to those MLK fought and died for. Talk about riding on someone elses history, a legitimate cause about how Americans were denied their equal rights, and illegals making it their own.

He was assassinated 1 year and 1 day after he gave he's second greatest speech (on April 4, 1967) “Beyond Vietnam: A Time To Break Silence" (aka A Call to Conscious) which caused him alienation by LBJ and some of his closest supporters.

But...but...but if there was a Nobel War Prize Obama`s predecessor would`ve won it and the right would be clamoring to put him on Mt. Rushmore. Get over it already. Obama didn`t earn it and it was an obvious swipe at the warlords now living in disgrace.

He didn't. But don't blame him, blame those who gave it to him.

Why did Obama deserve the Nobel Peace Prize?
he's deserved it much more then other Nobel Peace Prize winners.

a list of peace prize winners that Obama's much better then
1944 International Committee of the Red Cross (saw no problem with treatment of Jew in the concentration camps during the same time they got this award)
1945 Cordell Hull did almost everything in his power to prevent any Jews to escape from Nazi Germany (from the St Louis, to the Slattery Report etc. to the Quanza)
1994 Yasser Arafat terrorist

Seriously? I think it was a political ploy to grant legitimacy, although I don't see where there was a need to do that.

It's sort of like when Mussolini gave the papacy several hundred Billion in Italian Lira and restored some of the lands (a square mile) so the Vatican could exist once again. Mussolini was seeking legitimacy to rule.

I don't believe Obama took any direct action here, rather it was his supporters and party that coerced it.

Opining...

Once again. What did he do to actually earn it?
One person this year won a nobel prize for his study on why pony tails bounce.

about the same as most of the nobel peace prize winners
nothing
but at least he isn't a terrorist or responsible for the murder of millions of people.

though his brilliant work regarding the arab spring puts him in the same class as Jimmy Carter (letting the ayatollahs take control of Iran).

your question regarding Obama can just as equally be asked for many of the Nobel Peace Prize winners
Al Gore won it for Polar Bears (even though his facts on them were bunk)

in short the award is worthless (except it's $1,000,000 prize) so who cares that Obama won it

Just for a final proof how stupid this award is both Hitler and Stalin were nominated for peace prizes.

despite the fact that some decent people won the award I actually think the world would be a better off if all the Nobel peace prize winners ever existed.
