War? did they say war? does congress know about this?
I don't recall hearing about a vote to authorize taxpayer dollars on yet another contrived anti-terror aggression.

White House widening covert war in North Africa - Yahoo! News

WASHINGTON (AP) — Small teams of special operations forces arrived at American embassies throughout North Africa in the months before militants launched the fiery attack that killed the U.S. ambassador in Libya. The soldiers' mission: Set up a network that could quickly strike a terrorist target or rescue a hostage.

Congress knows about it. They have to sign off on the defense budget.

Say thank you to the "war on terror" in which people were told in 2001 to 2002 would be under the radar and not always make sense.

Pretty much 9/11 gave both parties free reign to have a war forever.

We can not police the entire world. It's an impossible task.

Contrived? In light of the Libya bombing, it appears that they didn't get set up in time.

But I thought the compaint was that there was not enough troops at the embassies. Now the complaint is that there are too many?

Righties want it both ways. They complain when there aren't enough (bad things can happen) and complain when there's too many.

Insatiatable.

We do not have to police the entire world but we should have the means to rescue or avenge any Americans molested, kidnapped or killed anywhere on the planet. After we rescue or recover the bodies of our people the criminals that did the deed must be defiled and destroyed.

This is not war against civilized opposition that follows any rules of conflict. It is a blood war between civilized folks and criminals. They are playing without rules or restraint and we must not hamper ourselves with any sense of decency or restraint. There is no need to be restrained by rules.

There is a strong case that our gooberment is the uncivilized criminal gang...just ask the survivors of one of Okillers drone attacks.

Eventually, the Delta Force group will form the backbone of a military task force responsible for combating al-Qaida and other terrorist groups across the region with an arsenal that includes drones.
Where is the money coming from? We should demand guv close the embassy if security is that much of an issue. What tangible benefit is there to the American taxpayer to continue this tin foil hat crusade?
We simply do not need embassies in hostile countries that do not want us there.
