If you don't want to get pregnant then buy you own birth control. It's not going to be taxpayer funded.
If you are unwilling to do that and you get pregnant, abortion will not be a lawful option for you. Have it and give it up for adoption then.
If you choose to keep the baby the government will not be obligated to support it. You created it, you support it.

You says it's never worked, then WHY DID IT WORK, till the mid 70's?
There was great shame, years back, in being unmarried and pregnant.
Because of that there were a lot of back alley abortions.
Mothers sometimes took the child of their child, pretending it was their own.
Families kicked their young daughters from the home.
Young girls even would commit suicide, not wanting to face the disgrace or get jobs, having no where to turn.
Adoption homes were a much bigger business, I would suspect. There are stories of how they would abuse the children in them, turning the facilities into work camps.

I'm not here to ponder the morality of abortion or birth control use - too each his or her own. But I simply can not understand why so many people see nothing wrong with demanding someone else pay for what they want. Condoms and birth control pills are not expensive. If you can afford your iPhones and iPads and your satellite radio and Netflix subscriptions, you can afford your birth control, and if you're old enough to be engaging in adult activities, then you're old enough to make adult decisions about paying for your birth control.
Taxpayers should not have to be on the hook for the sexual enjoyment of others.
I understand where you're coming from, but we are a society who has chosen to take on the cost of raising children who's own parents cannot, or will not bear that burden. It is an order of magnitude cheaper to prevent the pregnancy than pay for a child for 18 years... Or longer.
Don't twist the topic around into something that it is not. No wonder liberals are considered to be dishonest.
Only people like you "consider liberals to be dishonest" - those of us who live in reality realize dishonest people exist on all sides of the political fence.

I don't need to state publicly what I do to help children without homes with my own money in order to defend myself from your presumptive attack - I just do it.
I guess you think that only money that goes to government or government funded programs are effective - you are wrong - and the organization that I support and am active in is the proof.

There's a whole lot of horn tooting in this post alone, so don't be so quick to pat yourself on the back... either that, or you're just blowing smoke to make a point.
I don't care if you give thousands of dollars to charity, it doesn't change the fact that our nation has to deal with this problem - and simply admonishing people who have irresponsible sex, or wishing/praying they wouldn't does absolutely nothing. So for every dollar you give, know that another few dollars could be saved (might not even be so many child-related charities in existence) by making birth control accessible to all who want it. Think beyond your own actions and wallet, for goodness sakes.
