Chinese and Japanese didn't even especially l ike each other.

If the whole world followed Buddhism, we'd all be happy working for $0.25 an hour except there wouldn't be those factory jobs if the whole world was Buddhist. We'd instead be happy working for much less in rice paddies, glad for our daily cup of rice.

I don't think so.
confucianism is more a way of life, rather than a religion. read this;

Buddhism on a mass scale would hardly work.

it's ok to have a minority of peace loving monks, but when we all do the same thing the value is diminished.

it wouldn't be long before human greed and obsession with status took over again.

look how 'peace and love' Christianity, Islam etc.. turned out when it became mainstream!

Ah you are wasteing your time Chiel. Some will refuse to understand that those in power practiced Shintoism. Nor will they accept that the wars had nothing to do with religious ideals.

Actually, I think you will find Shintoism in Japan during the war period.

If people actually followed Buddhism, yes it would be a peaceful world. then again if Christians followed Christianity, it would be a far less judgmental world.

Want a really peaceful religion - Jainism

Philosophically, Buddhist is very attractive. If you actually practice it as a faith - be ready to worship hundreds of gods/demi-gods and be just as wacko as the rest of them. Besides, no matter what religion you are - you would still be at war with Islam.

Buddha did not believe in God. There are virtually no historical evidence that the person even existed. All of it is man-made and no proof. Buddhism will fade away soon anyway.

Buddhist countries are scary and intolerant, same as atheism. In countries with Buddhism as a major religion, you will be persecuted for insulting their religion and its founder.
