"I notice every increase, but it no longer effects me"

We bought a Prius in Dec.2010. It gets 40 MPG on it's worst day and usually it's closer to 50. Even better, it takes 8.5-9.5 gallons to fill up when the low fuel light comes on.

So a 2, 6, 8, 10, 20 cent increase per gallon doesn't change the overall number much.

Both.

I regularly pull up to the pump and the last person spent $75-$90 on their fillup... that must sting, I couldn't do it.

When it takes $70 dollars to fill the tank of my Dodge Caravan, while under the Bush administation it cost me at most, only $30 dollars, I can't help but notice. The increase in gas prices is the cause of food prices and other consumer goods more then doubling each year. At the same time, businesses are going bankrupt and closing, laying off more and more people causing them to rely on foodstamps as they lose their homes and finding themselves living in tent cities or under freeways. How can you help but not notice, unless of course you are already dead.:sm ack:

I do notice the prices fluctuating but it is what it is. I have one vehicle that gets 14mpg on a good day and another that gets 48mpg. I use the Excursion for trips to our cottage and the Jetta for the daily commute (72 miles round trip). Not much I can do about it and complaining about it won't help.

It stings, that's for certain in an era where salaries have been stagnant for several years. 5 years ago, it cost $15 to drive home to visit my parents. Now it's over $30 for that same trip.

Very interesting....., When gas prices went up to over $2.75 per gallon under the Bush administration, you whacko lib-nuts said it was all Bush's fault. Now that the prices are over $4.00 in most parts of the U.S. O'bummer has no control over it because it't the freemarket's fault. hmmmm, you can sure get an education on this website. : think::t hink:

I fill up the car about once a month.

My '96 Accord gets somewhere around 35 mpg. No complaining from me.

The price of fuel finds its way into your pocket book via every good or service you purchase. Additionally, high fuel costs could be a trigger which may put a friend or family member out of work or business.

I would give a rip.
