Same here. If being the "wrong kind of Christian" means supporting civil rights, access to health care and public education for all and a more caring community where everyone has a fair go at life starting out, then I guess that makes me a heretic.
If anyone is the "wrong kind of Christian" it's the one who claims to support "the sanctity of life" while working to deny life saving health care to millions, to essentially end entitlements to the elderly, (when that's all they have to support themselves) to support torture and warmongering, and to have a contemptible attitude toward the poor while worshipping the uber rich as being inherently more virtuous.
The religious right is a perversion of the gospel of Christ, pure and simple. there is no love, no compassion, no grace for one's fellow man. It is blasphemy.
