NEW YORK (AP) — U.S. oil output is surging so fast that the United States could soon overtake Saudi Arabia as the world's biggest producer.
Driven by high prices and new drilling methods, U.S. production of crude and other liquid hydrocarbons is on track to rise 7 percent this year to an average of 10.9 million barrels per day. This will be the fourth straight year of crude increases and the biggest single-year gain since 1951.
As long as it doesn't create a negative impact on our enviroment, I'm all for it. We're desperately in need not only of energy self-sufficiency, but energy exports.
And just imagine how much a gallon of gas will rise if Obama wins.
you can tell that the election is close, and that obama wants to stay in office. the price of a gallon of gas is going down. i expect the price of gas to go back up again if obama is here again in office next year.
We'd have to get a 2/3rds increase just to supply our own demand without imports. Also it is very easy to project 1-2 years of growth out a decade or two but in my experience such growth rates can't be sustained that long.

What? How can this be? I thought I was told over and over again that Obama was opposing all the oil production!
I would have been embarassed to post that and not know that he's opposing it on public lands, not private which is beyond his control.
