So you laugh it off when you lie or are ignorant of the facts. Typical liberal.

There are way too many stupid Americans on both sides of the political spectrum. People who make their decisions based on 30 second commercials designed to inflame their emotions rather than inform. Then we wonder why our government is screwed up.

I LOL'd b/c it was a specific retort to the genius who was harping on the Guam wacko. But Palin did indeed state you could see Russia from Alaska, when you can't.
Attempting to obfuscate and when you're obviously ignorant and devoid of verifiable facts is a classic case of RWNJ extremists and the epitome of republican hate mongers.
Yes. Russia and Alaska are divided by the Bering Strait, which is about 55 miles at its narrowest point. In the middle of the Bering Strait are two small, sparsely populated islands: Big Diomede, which sits in Russian territory, and Little Diomede, which is part of the United States. At their closest, these two islands are a little less than two and a half miles apart, which means that, on a clear day, you can definitely see one from the other. The Diomede Islands are often blanketed by persistent fog, which makes visibility difficult. On a clear day, though, a person standing at sea level can see a little less than three miles across the ocean. You can see farther if you go higher—at the highest altitude on Little Diomede (919 feet), you can see for about 37 miles. (Between mid-December and mid-June, when the water between the two islands freezes, an intrepid explorer can just walk from one to the other
Oh yes.........BOOM facts hurt LWNJ>>>>>>>
Yeah, you can see farther if you go up higher...IF YOU JOIN THE AIR FORCE. The highest point is an air force radar station. And the farthest a human can see w/ corrected 20/20 vision from sea level is 1.72 miles on average at avg. height. On a clear day you'll see 1.7 miles BEFORE THE CURVATURE OF THE EARTH takes effect on line of sight objects and the refracted light.
I know you guys want to reject science and stuff like that, since math and numbers tend to confuse you, but it's reality and you can't just wiki it away w/ an entry you RWNJ.
So, yeah...it a BIG "Bang" on ya. LOL.

Who needs a 30 second commercial when we had four years of real time European Socialism with Obama's political jargon ....

I'm sure you have numerous examples of these "european (sic) socialism" policies we have. I'd hate to think you just making things up and parroting right wing propaganda,...

Now on a dark night a human eye can see a candle flicker 30 miles away if conditions are right .....G.I.s in WW2 like my father-in-law cup their smokes in their hand for a reason...Snipers and this was before night vision.
