Guam is one of America's hidden jewels. It seldom makes the news apart from typhoons and military miscellany. The island is 85 percent Catholic. On Wednesday, Governor Eddie Calvo signed legislation that requires a 24 hour waiting period for women seeking abortions, along with requiring doctors to provide information about abortion health risks and alternatives. Guam already has a parental notification law.

That settles it. All "Christian" Conservatives in the country should move to Guam and declare independence.

The world will finally be able to move forward.

I think we'll need a little more land mass than Guam can provide. Other than that, I like your idea.

But only if we can vacation in California and the missionaries we send you are legally protected.

Digging a little deeper here .... despite having an abortion rate much lower than the United States average (1.7 per 1000 vs. 4.1 per 1000), Guam's abortion rate is #16 worldwide. According to The Esperanza Project, most of Guam's progress has occurred since 2008.
