Barack Obama, gay marriage, weed, and a new focus on climate change. This is the country, and the Republican Party has to adapt.
The country truly is changing, and it is wonderful to be a part of! What a great night, and a great day to look forward with optimism at the progression of America!

Welcome To Liberal America

I really hope you aren't insinuating that this country is tacking toward the left on fiscal and economic issues.

This is at the crux of the divide of this country.

Most folks I know who voted for Obama did so because of SOCIAL ISSUES, not FISCAL ISSUES.

Yet, it is the fiscal issues that are tanking this country.

This is really sad - there should be a middle ground on social issues so that voters focus on the difference in approaches that each party has in re: to lowering the debt, tax restructuring and entitlements.

It really doesn't matter what your dream is for society when you don't have the $$$ to fund those goals.

Well, a good start would be getting completely out of Iraq and Afghanistan and paring the military that we spend as much as the next ten nations combined on with no corresponding increase in safety/security. Then let's tell every country in the middle east they're on their own learn to live together or dir together, not our problem with one caveat, mess with us and be vaporized. GThen let's stop the ludicrous $$$ flow to the war on drugs that accomplishes nothing but making the producers/smugglers/dealers very wealthy men.

Social issues shouldn't even be part of the equation. "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness." The government shouldn't be involved in telling anyone how they can or cannot live their life, assuming that nobody is being hurt or oppressed by their actions. Unfortunately, that's not the reality, and the fiscal issues that most people ignored in this election are getting ready to rise up and smack us silly.

I remember when this country was great. Liberals have changed this country but certainly not for the good. I used to feel great about this country and its future. Not so much today. Sad to say.

I wasn't looking for personal opinions but thanks anyway and I agree with all of yours.

But there's too much money to be made with wars on perpetual boogeymen to end them.
Our wars are now abstract so they really never have to end.
