The same basic (bs) argument applies in each case.

For the very same reason heroin shouldn't be legal, alcohol shouldn't be legal.

Or, if alcohol should be legal, then heroin (under appropriate restrictions) should be.

The funny thing about the slippery slope fallacy is that in the real world it's a reality...
