What a disgrace. I find it appalling. I find sadness that the soldiers of the 'Cold War' have never been given their due. They earned it protecting this country during those turbulent years like 'The Berlin Airlift' or 'The Cuban Missile Crisis' for example. Obama promised that he would honor them. Today went by and he did nothing of a sort. This is what happens when you elect a man president that wasn't born with full American allegiance to his country through his parents. His father was a British Subject who owed allegiance to the a foreign sovereignty. These Cold War veterans fought against Communism, a ideology that president Obama relishes....as did his mother. So now we can understand why he wouldn't fulfill his promise. He will never honor veterans that fought against a ideology instilled in him by his mother and communist mentor.....Frank Marshall Davis.
He honored all veterans today. Why is this any more special? If he did promise to honor them, it was done today.
From the article:
President Barack Obama once promised, as a U.S. Senator, to honor veterans of the Cold War, who have never received official recognition and are therefore prevented from full participation in many Veterans Day celebrations. But he never fulfilled that promise--neither in the Senate nor the White House--leaving Cold War veterans in the cold.

He's got 4 more opportunities..What's the rush? HAHAHAH..Man, oh man.
"Veterans recently received significant boosts in many of their benefits with the passage of the Veterans Benefits Act of 2010. President Obama signed the bill (known as H.R. 3219) into law in mid-October. The new law enhances a number of veterans' benefits including new opportunities for employment, increased care for homeless veterans, expanded insurance limits, and updated military education benefits. The bill also reduces VA benefits delays to severely injured veterans, and provides better financial and legal protection for deployed troops. Smaller provisions are included in the bill as well, such as increased auto grants for disabled vets, childcare services for homeless veterans, and termination of family plan cell phone contracts for servicemembers who are deployed." Oh for **** sakes will you goddamn right wingnuts get a grip....
What's sick is the way that the right-wing propagandists pervert the sources that they are supposedly getting their information from. From the Wall Street Journal article:
"In 2006, Mr. Almquist, who lives in Illinois, complained to his then-senator, Barack Obama. Mr. Obama emailed back, calling a Cold War medal "appropriate," and hoping "that this impasse can be broken soon." It wasn't. Now the vets intend to ask him to create the medal by executive order."
The Breitbart site turns this quote into this:
"President Barack Obama once promised, as a U.S. Senator, to honor veterans of the Cold War, who have never received official recognition and are therefore prevented from full participation in many Veterans Day celebrations. But he never fulfilled that promise--neither in the Senate nor the White House--leaving Cold War veterans in the cold."
And then the insane right-wing proselytizers go out and spread this crap around.
