A hat-tip to the Tea Party, for putting Olympia Snowe in the impossible position by demanding that she be far more conservative than Maine warrants, under threat of a primary challenge if she did not comply.

She folded her hand, and the Democratic caucus had a Senate seat fall into their lap.

If not for the Tea Bag party the Senate would have been GOP in 2010. Now, they help the Dems add to their majority.

The Tea Party, the gift that keeps on giving.

Keep dreaming. The senate would not have gone republican. Basically the democrqatic gains i the senate in 208 where mostly Blue dog democrats. The gains in the nouse and senate in 2010 where mostly Tea party candidates. I think there is a meesage in both instances.

You people act like this is a surprise? Anyone who followed the race knew he was going to do this...can't win as a democrat just lie to folks and run as an "independent"...

You're confused.

No one so far in this thread has expressed any surprise at King's move. We're simply discussing it. How you mistake that for being 'surprised' is beyond me.

Mainstream Republican candidates in Delaware and Nevada would have easily beaten the weak Dem candidates. So, who took the gop nomination? O'Donnell in Delaware and Angel in Nevada, who both lost.

I am sure he will, but he doesn't spell 'caucus' this way.
