First, you are wrong. Oklahoma only gets about $.90 for every $1.00 they send to the federal government.

Secondly, the whole "givers and takers" dichotomy isn't very useful. Because it says nothing about why each state is getting so much or so little money. Nor does it address the fact that our economy is so manipulated by government spending as it is.

The question you have to ask is, what would happen if Oklahoma was to secede from the United States? If the givers and takers argument was correct, then if Oklahoma was to become its own nation, then Oklahoma would become poorer than it is now.

If that was the case, why not just kick Oklahoma out of the union?

Because it is far more complicated than that. Oklahoma is a major source of natural resources. States like New York rely heavily on finance(the largest Federal Reserve bank is there). If Oklahoma was no longer in the union. Oklahoma would have its own currency and its own financial system.

The truth is, financial centers like New York City and San Francisco need the rest of the country far more than the rest of the country needs them. Without the rest of the United States as an easy market, Hollywood would be a tiny shell of its current self.

To a large extent, manufacturing being located where it is, is a product of government support and intervention. Without subsidies, special privileges, government contracts, and bailouts, most manufacturing that is still located in Northern states would relocate to southern states until there is a "cost equilibrium".

Israel has killed how many? 6 in the one tunnel, although some attribute that to....a workplace accident (IE terrorists handling bombs lol), and 1 more at a launch site?

So whats the point of the news articles exactly? You're demonstrating that the rockets suck as a weapon, but do spread terror quite well....thanks to people like you?

Israel under attack: Some 30 rockets fired at Israel - Israel News, Ynetnews

You think running to shelter in the middle of the night is fun for old people or anyone for that matter. One can't live a normal life like this. The rockets are spreading to a much larger radius and to more heavily populated areas than before.

You must lack reading comprehension. I've agreed they are excellent weapons of terror, they're just really poor real weapons. its noise.

Its someone throwing rocks at people with guns...because they dont have real guns.

Israel shoots down rocket aimed at Tel Aviv as its forces hit Gaza*-*Los Angeles Times

Israel's main international airport flights might be disrupted due to incoming rocket fire from Gaza. So again this is more than just terror for Israelis but potentially anyone traveling in and out of Israel could be effected. If rockets were raining on NYC (Tel Aviv is the closest equivalent in Israel), I would like to see the USA just stand back without any reaction. So I disagree with your assessment.

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/07/09/wo...gaza.html?_r=0

Wow an area is in conflict, maybe flying there might be hazardous?

But no worries-Israel has had a measured response, 50 places hit, 14 dead.

Surely the fact that 20X as many palestinians have been killed so far during the missle and bombing phase.......

I mean both sides are not enjoying this, Whats your goal in posting all of this? Do you think the US should be involved in some way?

Why the anti-semitism? I'm Catholic and everyone I know has nothing but respect and admiration for Jewish people. Just because they don't believe in God exactly like we do, doesn't take away from the fact that they are a great people and believe in the same God we do.

You have to let your hate go.

I don't care how good the rockets are, an attack on Israel should be met with the full force of the Israeli military. I hope they blow the crap out of them and take the Gaza strip and occupy it permanently.

They have a right to live in peace.
