Competition between online and bricks-and-mortar stores means Black Friday and Cyber Monday are basically becoming one and the same.
4:18PM EST November 25. 2012 - The biggest holiday shopping weekend of the season still has one day left, but retailers can already consider it their best yet.
More shoppers came out Thanksgiving night, more shoppers hit stores on Black Friday, more shopped online and everyone spent more. The result: more than $59 billion in estimated sales from Thursday through Sunday, according to a BIGInsight survey conducted for the National Retail Federation.
That's up from $52.4 billion last year. And all signs point to a huge Cyber Monday, as more consumers turned to their computers or mobile devices to shop during the weekend.
Good news for the economy. I hope partisans don't try and crap all over this news. I just hope that the spending keeps going through the rest of the next month, then we will see investment throughout the next year, and new jobs.
That explains all the so called "deals" I saw. $20 bucks off on a $100 electronic, and I'm supposed to wait in line for that??? Damn Obama!!!!
Bought our son an XBOX 360, normally 250 bucks, on sale for 150. Got him a train set weeks ago, on sale for 100 dollars, normally a 300 dollar HO set. Got my daughter a leap pad normally sold for 150, got it on sale for 50 bucks.
Books, clothes, etc, mostly marked down by 60% or more.

I did not shop, but I saw an ad for 73" 1080p HDTV for $888.00. I wouldn't mind watching my Dolphins play on a 73" TV.....
PS Most people don't mind working those days because they get paid time and a half.
