Generating power <> storing power and having it on demand 24-7 as well as being able to meet peak load times.

And that is where lies the rub.

Generation, storage, variability, transmission distance all factor into the equation and it's a whole lot more complicated than what it sounds.

Oh, and it has to be really really cheap.

Many of these wild stories are concocted by misinformed anti-drilling people.

When Ny finally begins drilling, I'm sure fracking will be blamed for every headache north of Poughkeepsie.
