Actually, that made news when it happened, and I would bet it was discussed here, too.

It was a 'potential' massacre. One doesn't trifle with idiot criminals bursting on the scene with weapons. If one gets the opportunity to blow off their faces, s/he does just that. Only fools wait around to see who dies first.

Wow. Two points on distortion. Man prevents robbery does not equal stopping a mass slaughter by a would be nutbag.

Now we are going to find every case where someone shoots someone, and then say "well. . .he probably prevented a Massacre"

2year old shoots brother with gun, well probably prevented a Massacre

Even if this story was true to the OP point, its still a fallacy. Cherry picking is not the way you determine logic.

Because one of the customers was armed, and took care of the problem before it became a massacre.

That's some of the most ridiculous logic I've read yet in this forum. Yes, the title is misleading, intentionally so. The massacre in Aurora make nationwide headlines for weeks, and this incident, where a massacre was averted by an armed citizen wasn't even on the radar.

While it's entirely possible the bad guys in this case would have taken wallets, watches, and phones, and been on their merry way, it's also possible they intended to leave no witnesses behind.

Shame on you for comparing a 2 year old shooting his brother to the clearly dangerous situation caused by the thugs on this video. I'm just sorry they lived through it, no doubt they'll pull something similar in the future. Hopefully they'll get shot somewhere other than the ass next time.

Had but a single person in the theater in Aurora been armed, dozens of people could have been saved from being killed our wounded. But, it was not to be, they were all following the law that said they weren't allowed to be armed. And 12 people died and 58 were wounded as a result.

Colorado has legal concealed-carry.

You are correct. But the theater had a no firearms policy, which overrides the right of a CCW-permitted person to carry. By doing so, they would have been violating the law, although such a violation may have saved lives.

Yeah, and we see what happens at Auto Zone when an employee has a weapon and prevents his boss from possibly getting killed. He gets fired!

State rights should override company/theater silly little rules.

I am sorry, but if all those people had been armed, the difference might have been a could of people, but I suspect it would have even been worse carnage as people just pulled their guns and start popping caps at anything that moved.

A simple solution to such an attack would be to have lights connected to the exit doors that stay on as long as the door is not closed properly.

Someone would have seen the exit door propped open and closed it, leaving the bozo standing out in the parking waiting for the cops.

You are confusing trained individuals with untrained psychopaths.

The shooter had an AR-15, fed by a 100 round barrel magazine. Anyone who knows about such things know they're useless as they jam with regularity. Which is exactly what happened. But, as he was not trained, he didn't know how to clear the jam (which is quite simple), so he dropped it and went on to his backup weapon.

Someone who takes the trouble to know how to work their weapon works, to understand how to acquire their target, is not going to just blindly take out their piece and start shooting at random.

At least I do.

What are you basing your suspicions on? Facts? Wishful thinking?
