How are taxes theft when they're one of the explicit powers of gov't that the Constitution authorizes?
Not everything the gument does or has done is morally or legally just. A la the internment of Japanese Americans in WWII. Just because special interests and lobbyist have concocted a tax monstrosity ... How Long is the US Tax Code? ... does not make it right or just. To put it in colloquial terms "it ain't their money".
Taking money from one person and giving it to another person is theft. It really is that simple.
How about taking one person's money and keeping it for themselves? Or taking one dollar, giving .15 of it back in public bribes for re-election, and keeping .85 ?
This isn't theft, it's just "creative finance" which is only taught at Yale and Harvard, and only to a select few.
The crazy talk of 'bribes' 'pay offs' and 'theft' when right wingers and anarchists speak of taxes deserves very little in the way of argument. One cannot argue with irrationality and expect a reasoned and rational dialogue.
The "taxes are theft" claim is a good way of finding out if someone is raving loon or not. It's also 100% accurate. "No one should ever pay any taxes!"
if I earn $100 and the federal takes 40%, and the state takes 10% and the county (property) takes 20%...do you really think is fair that I only see $30 of the $100 I EARNED
what gives the 'government(S)' the right to TAKE MORE THAN HALF
it is theft, no matter how you slice it...especially since the government DOES NOTHING for the common man
Sorry but that is way too complicated to read, I say taxes are still theft from my pocket when they're used for gov't programs I don't personally benefit from.
It is a sad day in America when understanding even an extraordinarily simple view of due process protections is "way too complicated."
Nowhere in the constitution does it allow for government to take from you to give to me. In fact, you as an individual are only entitled to one personal thing from the government....a defense attorney.
Do you suffer from some form of Topic Attention Deficit Disorder?
This thread is about the power to tax. If you would like to argue the constitutionality of expenditures, be my guest, but do it on your own thread.
