Recipient class people do not care about the cost of anything because they are nor responsible for the cost.
The only time they get concerned is when they get shut off for non payment of their very, very, very small share of the bill.
Ride through a ghetto area....in the winter, they have the heat up so high, that they open the windows to cool the house down.
I've rented to these people. The agent who took care of collecting the rent for me told me explicitly "Do not install anything new in these places....these people are animals....they destroy a house in months."
Guess what? He's right. AND he's black! AND he lives in the neighborhood with these people!
When you rent to a recipient class person, the house is destroyed in a year. Sinks are ripped from the walls. Carpets are full of animal feces and food droppings. Ovens and refrigerators ALWAYS need to be replaced, because they simply cannot be cleaned. Holes in walls, doors ripped from their hinges.
I have no idea why this made the news. I am also not sure why the OP felt the need to call her a welfare queen. No one knows where her income is or who pays her. All we know is that has seven children and is poor. What is it with right-wingers fixation on the poor? We can also post threads about tax evasion, fraud and corporate welfare, but I don't see many of those.I suppose because while they fixate on the poor, the rich are to be worshipped and can do no wrong. Nothing was learned from Romney's 47% comment. People are sick of this. We have a lot of issues in this country, poor people are not the root of all evil.

I've never seen anything like it.
Most of these people cannot be helped.
So if they would rent to me for something reasonable, nothing gets destroyed and it's a win-win right?
Both of you need to read the rest of the thread and realize that her having 7 kids has nothing to do with the situation she is in. This is a story about the crazy bill amounts from our water department. It is not a reflection on this woman or her children. No one should have a $9K water bill for 2 years. The average bill here is $100 per month, even if you make it $200 a month, it would only be $4800 for 2 years. Even if you add on the $5 charge per month that they put on your bill if you are late, it will only be $4920. So all of you thinking that this woman's situation is somehow related to her children and them being disabled, just want to complain about people who are on welfare. Nowhere in the article did it even say she was on welfare. It did mention that 6 of her kids are disabled. You don't know her or their situation and more than likely she gets SSDI for the kids, not welfare. I really dont' know where you are all getting this from.
Thank you for pointing this out.
For all any of us know, she could be fostering those kids (God Bless those who do) or something similar.
Have to say it again, amazing how many people are so quick to condemn. Very sad.
And notice not a single person, including the OP, has come back and retracted any of the disgusting things said, even though the truth of the situation has been posted several times.

Ever hear of Occam's Razor?
"Among competing hypotheses, the one that makes the fewest assumptions should be selected."

I lived across the hall from a (black) woman on Section 8 and possibly welfare. She had 3 kids.
Her apartment was SPOTLESS. She was ALWAYS cleaning and mopping. It was the cleanest place I have ever seen.
Thank you for pointing this out.

I hope no one's holding their breath waiting for retractions. Still, one can hope. Really, people should be pointing out the apparent unwillingness of the Atlanta municipal water system to investigate these errors and correct them, especially since this is such a well-known problem in the area.
