Unlike the Republicans this President is really serious about cutting the budget...

I don't know how he has time to conduct all the interviews. He's amazing!

BTW, hiring is down and many agencies have hiring freezes.

Where are these increases?

That spike is census worker, that spike every ten years.

I think that we can safely presume that any thread by xxx is misinformation.

Even if the OP is misleading, during a depression there should be a huge increase in public sector employment to spur economic growth and then scaled back when the country is exiting the recovery phase and going into prosperity mode. The budget should be cut and balanced when economic times are good/when tax receipts are high, never doing a depression/recession

Does the chart include military, contract workers, grant workers, state/local workers paid by funding from federal mandates...

Looks like your chart is an intentional whitewash to make the federal payroll appear much smaller than it really is

In my area, the vast majority of public sector workers are state employees and DoD personnel and their civilian defense contractors. We also have a large VA hospital in Lebanon County (Lebanon VA Medical Center) and have several smaller VA clinics. My region of the state is festooned with federal dollars. Cut that, and a huge part of the regional economy slides into recession.

sounds like your region is contributing to the recession that the rest of us are struggling through.

How so? The vast majority of federal spending in my region is defense related activities, unlike NoVA. The local airport also serves as a backup airport for Air Force One as well, since we regularly see pilots practicing maneuvers on Air Force One at my airport.

sorry it all needs to be cut, we spend more that the rest of the world combined on military offense and the rest of us cant afford to continue propping up your local economy.
