I'm not a conservative, which may disqualify me from answering, but the issue I have with unions in general is that they want to monopolize the right to assemble as only applying to members of their organizations. Why can there only be one union at each factory or for each job?

Organizing to negotiate is a great thing, but not at the cost of denying each individual's right to assemble and organize competing unions that are more in line with their interests.

Because they create mass economic inefficiencies.

I used to work in a unionized plant, and I saw these things everyday. The union allowed many people to keep their jobs that should have been fired.

Come to Chicago, where it takes three union men making $80,000 salary to change light bulbs and paint lines on roads.

As I've said before, the day that CEOs are hired on a "free market" and their compensation and job security is tied directly to performance, I will become more sympathetic towards their arguments.
What do you mean "hired on a "free market"?

Obviously not more than Wall St, but I don't see you arguing against this economic distortion.

If you are so against unions and blame many of them for destroying businesses why then won't you also hold accountable the ceo's or other top execs who made more than any of the unions workers and who bankrupted the company giving themselves extravagant bonuses.

What if instead of the unions supporting and giving money to mainly dems what if they gave money to republicans instead ? Would you still dislike them so much ?
You make assumptions not warrented by facts. We ARE against profiteering CEO's, just as we are against union thugs who distort market forces, hide incompetency and drive up the costs of goods and services.

Labor unions have destroyed much of our educational infrastructure, such as in California. Holding governments hostagle with their excessive demands.
