I have to wander what who tries to ruover a sheriffs deputy over a shop lifting charge. If she did then she endagered his life and he was acting i self defense. its upoto a grand jury to decide now as always.
I'm sorry she's dead, all life is very precious. However, let's keep in mind who was in the wrong here:

Tragically, Frey wasn't even supposed to be at a Walmart that evening.
Earlier in the year she pleaded guilty to stealing shirts and a package of meat from another Walmart and as part of her plea arrangement she agreed to never enter Walmart stores again.
This was someone who has no respect for the law or other people.
Yeah he is going to jail, probably for quite some time.
1) the average person on this board is either a sociopath, or stupid (i.e. the people saying good. You deserve death for stealing ? what? from wal-mart? seriously?
2) I doubt a deputy will go to jail for shooting someone. I mean, not like this.. . the deputy will get clean off.
3) it was a deputy. i dont know if you noticed, but the "rentacops" at wal-mart are usually real cops using their time off.
Of course there will be community outrage at the shooting of a Black person, a victim of society.
The community will cry discrimination and racism and demand the officer be fired.
Then the parents of this girl will sue the city for wrongful death, going to the press saying she was a good girl and just made a mistake. Later reports will show she probably has a record a mile long of past crimes.
It will hit national news. The city will settle with the parents for $$$, the police will announce officer education on diversity. Then it will all die down and go back to BAU.
What we KNOW is that the two women with Ms Frey have been arrested. So the suspicion of shoplifting has some substance to it.
Yeah, but you cannot just shoot shoplifters. I mean the spokesman was very clear in his spin on the incident to couch it in ways that might go to the reasonableness of the shooting. There are plenty of cases where clerks shot and killed fleeing shoplifters and got hefty jail terms for it, but they were normal people not police officers. Like I said I doubt there will be a serious investigation of this though because he was a 26 year veteran.
