Just because what we're doing isn't working doesn't mean you have a knee jerk reaction and do something else that won't work. The problem isn't guns. It's the people using the guns. THAT is the issue that needs to be addressed. Until you address that, you fix nothing.

Not really. Take it from a former chemical engineer there are ways besides bombs and bombs you can build where you would not even arouse suspicion collecting the materials. I refuse to go into details here, for obvious reasons but I know my chemistry and physics.

Just look at terrorists in the Middle East. IEDS have been pretty effective in killing people overseas.
