What makes them think they can stop it in the real world with more laws and regulations?

What makes you lefties so convinced that anything but ending "gun free zones" will stop tragedies like this?

I don't think they want to stop it but for some reason they don't want you to be able to do anything about it. They detest
anyone declining to be a victim and being proactive. It's bizarre.

Yeah, who thinks the federal government cares about federal inmates? I mean the federal government doesn't care about law abiding citizens, only a fool would think they care about cons.

I've heard many people, particularly conservatives, whine that prison is too lenient and a cake walk.

Should we have laws against murder and rape at all?

Um, you do know that most prisons are not federal, right? Of those incarcerated in the U.S., only about 10% are in federal facilities, some of which themselves are run by states or private companies. Even more state facilities, which house the other 90% or so, are privately owned and operated. And, even if the aforementioned were not true, I'm not sure what your argument is, exactly. If you are trying to make an argument by analogy, then how are the "real world" and prison similar?

Where did I state that ALL prisons were federal?

Comprehension is a sign of intelligence.

Very true. Even the drug laws are broken in prison. If the government can't control drugs, murder, rape, weapons and so on in prisons then even making our whole country into a prison isn't going to work.

Just like feds kicking in doors and arresting many drug dealers doesn't keep drugs out of every public middle school, it's not possible for the government to stop people from buying and having guns. The feds even know about the tons of drugs and other contraband coming over the border every single day -- and they haven't stopped it. If 30 million foreigners can manage to be here illegally committing all sorts of fraud and supplying false or stolen documents for many years -- then how would the same government that cannot stop any of that suddenly be capable of enforcing laws or controlling what is brought into this country and sold on the black market?
