After all, if I had ammonium nitrate I'd never use it to kill anyone but just fertilize my plants...

I have no problem with people purchasing fertilizer. However, if they use it to kill somebody the law should come down on them with everything they have.

I don't support a police state. There I said it.

Right to bear "arms". Making homemade pipebombs that use ammonium nitrate should fall under the right to bear arms. Why can't I make my own bombs?

You can, you just need to have the correct license to do so.

That'd also give you access to much better explosive devices.
