Unfortunately for you, the majority of Americans seems to see it quite differently. They see this as yet another GOP move to undermine the president, consequences be damned. Sort of the "the end justifies the means" approach republicans have embraced for a while now.

Somehow, the GOP is under the impression that people will buy into this nonsense and turn on a president who has made any reasonable effort to broker a deal while republicans have basically put up a concrete wall, hoping that Obama would smash his political head in.

Letting the country go over the fiscal cliff is, in their eyes, a blessing because they hope to attach the blame exclusively on Obama. Along the lines of "See what happened under Obama?"

As always, they have been very successful in convincing the gullible members of our nation who lack the ability to peek past their ideological blinders.

It may not be a fatal wound, but he looks exceedingly weak. It's a rare thing in American politics for a speaker to head a "minority government", but that's clearly what we now have: the "front bench" cannot command a majority in the House of Representatives.

Boy. How old are you, anyway?
You do realize that there are very, very few people in this country that are dumb enough to believe that, don't you?

Wow! Dale Cooper is against taxing people who make more than $1,000,000/year! He must be a multi-millionaire! Who would have thought we'd be in the presence of such wealth here on CD? Maybe that's why he has the time to sit online and post nonsense all day, every day as he supports his fellow oligarchs? Hmmm....

Yet again. Plan B is a republican proposal that would raise taxes on virtually every tax bracket. Go ahead and ignore the facts while pushing your agenda.

Boehner's Plan B would have raised taxes on the poor & middle class by eliminating existing tax breaks. Only those in the $250,000-$1 million income range would have been untouched.

Plan B failed. Plan Romney failed. Plan Regain the House of Reps failed. Plan Hope Obama Caves failed. Republicans are hoist with their own petard.

Maybe he's not even posting it; maybe he just orders his man Jeeves to do it?

Alright, sure, tonight's debacle proves that the House GOP caucus is the monkey house at the zoo.

But it also proves that the country is effectively ungovernable until at least 2014, and thanks to ruthless GOP state-house gerrymandering, probably well beyond.

So, once we've all enjoyed a chuckle at the speaker's abject embarrassment, we might spare a thought for the dysfunctional mess our constitution has brought us to, once again.
