Silly little men don't even read what they are cutting and pasting from militant gun nut web sites.

"That the people have a right to bear arms for the defence of themselves and their own state, or the United States, or for the purpose of killing game; and no law shall be passed for disarming the people or any of them, unless for crimes committed, or real danger of public injury from individuals; and as standing armies in the time of peace are dangerous to liberty, they ought not to be kept up: and that the military shall be kept under strict subordination to and be governed by the civil powers."""-- James Madison

Hmm, you think that having semi autos with removable 30 round cartridges might lead to a "real danger of public injury from individuals."

Since you guys are so "strict interpretationalist", and this is the guy who wrote the f****** thing, what do you think he meant by that?

Well in the liberal world "real danger of public injury from individuals" means "disarm everyone."

It is very clear Madison was referring to disarming dangerous individuals, not banning something for everyone. In other words, he'd be okay with keeping violent felons or the insane from having weapons.

Sounds like the liberals are getting more and more desperate.

Now they're hoping to persuade people that someone keeping a gun in a pocket in case a bad guy robs a store... or wants to shoot a bunch of children in an elementary school... that it's the law-abiding citizen who's the "danger".

Do these strange people actually believe their own press clippings?

Right, because that's how you want it to be read.

Nice try though.

It means to disarm nut-cases or people who have shown they are unable to handle a weapon without harming others.

"A government that does not trust it’s law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms is itself unworthy of trust.” James Madison.

Poor, desperate little libbie.

Do you have ANY evidence that he meant it any other way? Or just your own hysterical screeching?

(waiting patiently... )

I wonder if ever there was a criminal today who was a "law-abiding free" citizen yesterday.

" no law shall be passed for disarming the people or any of them...."

Seems pretty clear to me.
