For those who don't want to read it I'll just sum it up for you since the koch brothers and there organization americans for prosperity spent so much on the election and FAILED now they are going after victims of hurricane sandy by warning there bought and paid for politicians to block the relief bill which would promise sandy's victims relief. I don't care if your a republican or democrat this is just beyond low even for these scum !
To be sure, the Kochs have given "more than a hundred million dollars to right wing causes" (which is their right, by the way). But in the last decade, it's also worth noting the Kochs have given more than $600 million in pledged or donated money to arts, education, and medical research, including (but not limited to):
New York-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell: $15 million
M.D. Anderson Cancer Center: $25 million
The Hospital for Special Surgery: $26 million
Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center: $30 million
Prostate Cancer Foundation: $41 million
Deerfield Academy: $68 million
Lincoln Center's NY State Theater: $100 million
Massachusetts Institute of Technology: $139 million
Here we have civic-minded business leaders engaging in their right to participate in the political process -- and also donating large amounts of wealth to philanthropic causes.
Charles G. Koch and David H. Koch are billionaires who own Koch Brothers, a chemical, textile, trading and refining conglomerate and one of the world’s largest privately held companies. It operates out of Wichita, Kansas and reports annual revenue of over $100B dollars.
The brothers also fund the Koch Foundation, which supports many charities, including Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Red Cross, Salvation Army, and the Nature Conservancy, and the Wichita Special Olympics.
"A Bloomberg Markets investigation has found that Koch Industries -- in addition to being involved in improper payments to win business in Africa, India and the Middle East -- has sold millions of dollars of petrochemical equipment to Iran, a country the U.S. identifies as a sponsor of global terrorism."
You ever think they give to charities not because it's a good thing or the right thing to do but simply so they can put it as tax deductions so they keep more of there money at the end of the year ? And hey why not while keeping that money they can simply say SEE we give money to charities were good people. Just because you give lots of money to a charity means nothing when your business practices tend to be unethical or immoral you destroy others lives so you can squeeze a few more dollars out. It's just like when the members of the mafia go to church on sunday you murder, steal, beat, and rape then you go to church on sunday and all is forgiven ? Stop being deluded just because they have money does not mean they are not trash it just means they are trash with money. AND THEY ARE TERRORISTS !
