RNC Chairman Michael Steele recently sent out a fundraising letter saying that President Obama and Democratic leaders in Congress are attempting a “socialist power grab.” Today on NBC’s Meet the Press, host David Gregory pressed House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) on whether such language was appropriate. Boehner tried to dodge the question, insisting that “you can call it whatever you want,” but the fact is that Obama’s the one scaring the American public. Gregory continued to ask whether Boehner believes Obama is a socialist, to which he finally admitted he doesn’t:

Anyone with common sense knows all this name calling is just a sadly normal fact of political life since the religious right stuck its nose into politics in the 1980's and started demonizing anyone and anything on the left side of the aisle.
Obama is no more of a socialist than anyone else. The right uses that term to demonize the man and poison the well, to divide us and conquer us so that the wealthiest and greediest top 1-2% of the nation can continue to transfer wealth from us to them.
During the 2008 campaign, John McCain had the decency to tell some old hag that Obama was not a Muslim; if John Boehner was just half the man that John McCain is, Boehner would've come right out and flatly said that Obama is no socialist.
"Socialist" is just the new "N" word. Anyone with common sense knows it.

They like to yell insults when they are in a crowd, but when they are in a one-on-one interview they admit they made everything up (lied).
It happened to Grassley. He repeated his 'death panel' lie on many occations on TV and at townhalls, but when he was asked flat out if he actually believed it, he said no. He admitted the death panels were not in the bill, and that he was just saying it because he opposed the bill.

Socialist is the new "N" word?
Ridiculous.
I guess we're all racists for opposing the President's agenda huh?
