We all know how well Bush 43 did with his agendas after the 2004 election. It went no where.
So those thinking Obama has this same political capital with huge tax increases without real spending cuts need to think again about this "elections have consequences" motto.
Obama would lose capital with NO tax increase. This action is in sync with his campaign.
That is sick. The Reopublicans are agreeing to tax increases, why arent the liberals agreeing to spending cuts. If you truly care about the nation and future generations how can you justify tax increases with no spending cuts. That tells me you are living for the now and care only about yourself. What a sick, selfish mentality!
Not sick. Just a special kind of stupid. Some people see the government as Robin Hood. All you have to do is take from the rich and all will be fine. They're ignorant. They don't know how budgets work. They think you can just raise taxes AGAIN on corporations and the EVIL (said in a deep booming voice) wealthy in the future and fix it all when you can't. Every time they raise corporate taxes, more corporations move out of the US. We've become a consumer nation instead of a manufacturing nation. We cannot sustain this. It will implode. However, the stupid liberals have their fingers in their ears chanting "na-na we won" when they have no idea what they "won". They won the election but lost the war. Unfortunately, they'll never even see that. It will always be the fault of the evil conservatives who are trying, desperately, to save this country.
We need serious budget cuts. We cannot continue down the path we are on. I'm hoping the budget cuts in the senate's offer to the house are good enough but fearful they are not. Liberals don't like cutting the budget. They prefer to just get another charge card and then to shuffle money around to make it look like they're actually making the payments when they're not.

Campaign promises are always broken. Obama has already broken his 200/250k tax increase promise. Just saying. The American public is very fickle. We went from all republican White House and congress to all democrat White House and congress in 4 years.
Of course, Obama is not trying to continue spending like a drunken sailor while getting at his tax raises. I wonder how many more months they are promising we have to wait for the spending cuts.

Next, let's look at the sources of these deficits. The GOP and sanrene would like to characterize the source as Obama greatly expanding government and wild discretionary spending. If so, where are new federal programs? The stimulus, which expired, was $788 billion over two years. The Affordable Care Act doesn't go into effect until 2014.
When an objective person looks at the cause of the deficits under Obama, we see that revenue dropped by $1.5 trillion from 2007 to 2009 levels. Is it Obama's fault that revenue dropped? It's the economy, stupid.
Then, we saw a large increase in unemployment expenditures:

I am coming to the conclusion that they want the system as we know it....to collapse. That way.....we can all greet a new and shiny rebirth in Pol Pot America! Monsters who want more and more and more power/control.....that is the prize at the end of the destructive rainbow.
