It seems that words such as 'value, worth, living wage, minimum wage, etc..' are not quite correct.
The 'value' of labour is based on what the employer is prepared to pay.
So, how low should it be,
$1/hr, 2, 3 or maybe even nothing at all?
supply and demand seems to dictate here, and where I live currently the min wage (where it does exist) is only $0.25/hr, and in many places it is even less.
So how about in the West - how low can we tolerate?
Subsistence wages, indentured servants or slavery - could it go back to that one day?
KK maybe in your neck of the woods people will work for 25 cents an hour and perhaps survive on that amount, Current minimum wage rates in the USA will get most people out to work rather than sitting at home,For $0.25 per hour they'll stay home and collect welfare.
Wages should be commensurate with the job, you wash dishes, 4 bucks an hour, sweep floors, 2 bucks an hour....
I disagree, dishwashers and floor flushers aren't worth more than a dime. And that's my conservative point of view. I'd need to make a profit so I can retire in Palm Springs.
What is so funny is when you complainers graduated or even today, you know that a higher education generally has more value yet you "CHOOSE" not to educate yourselves and then you cry and complain. It was your choice not to do anything to increase your marketable skills. If you don't like it then do something about it.
And if you think your wage is bad, and if you voted for the man guess what, bend over because he just screwed you royally by increasing your taxes.
He got your vote so now that he got what he wants from you. Obama doesn't care about you.
