Note: I am not putting this in the automotive forum because it's not about trucks themselves; rather, it's about the social constructs of real men driving trucks.

I think the majority of men drive trucks - mainly conservative, republican types who are all about US products and all that. A fair share of liberals and Democrats drive trucks as well.
Personally, I don't think they're of any use other than hauling stuff for work or business ends. Other than that, they honestly need to be kept off the road since they are gas guzzlers.
Same goes for trucks that someone doesn't need for a job.

Why is it up to anyone to decide what others should drive?
I bet you eat a lot of food that you don't need. Not saying you're fat. Just saying that everybody in a wealthy country owns or uses things that they don't necessarily need.
I bet you own a computer too. (Just a hunch.) Do you really need it? Unlikely.
My '96 Tacoma gets 22 mpg. Hauls everything I need to haul. I don't know how people can go without a truck. What do you do when you get a piece of furniture?
