Not having reckless sex prevents unwanted kids and reduces the chance of poverty.

Here is a novel concept... Don't get pregnant out of wedlock and hold fathers accountable for their children..

The A+ was the hard one actually, I had been laid off, and was working several part time jobs to keep afloat, so the cost of the tests were a little more difficult to scrounge up the rest, taken while employed, I would save up and pay for the tests. Some require more than a couple of tests, so it took a while to get them all completed. Not much call for a Novel 3.1 CNA or CNE these days though.

The bottom line however, is I taught myself.
Congratulations. I'm really really smart at some things, but I have zero aptitude for computers, science or math. Tell me how I'm supposed to become a whizbang genius computer geek, founder of some Internet empire, or anything else that you conservatives constantly rant about? Or anyone else in this world who has no aptitude for the few current fields that pay well?

Really, the one-size-fits-all "solutions" you conservatives peddle don't address half the problem. But I expect you know that and really only repeat these platitudes to hide your real reason. Selfishness.

Independent in the sense of being not dependent on government programs. Taxation is not the same thing, taxation is a way to pay into a society to keep it functioning.

Our definition of what it means to "keep functioning" though has changed over time.
We now need more money to support that change.

It reduces the chance of poverty now, and increases the chance of poverty later, because you won't have adult children to support you in old age.

Wrong. You don't understand the mentality of those folks. They see making more money as getting LESS!

"If I make more money, my food stamps will be less."

"If I make more money, my section 8 housing voucher won't be good any more, because I won't be eligible.".

"If I make more money, my child support will be reduced, my kids won't get free lunch, and I can't have any more free bus passes, I might even get kicked off of Medicaid!" Gasp!!!!

They just can't process that you will never make $20 an hour if you won't give up making $8 an hour for $10.

Reagan had the brilliant idea that welfare recipients should lose a dollar of welfare for every dollar they earned.

Then conservatives were outraged that welfare recipients weren't flocking to dead-end low-wage jobs.
