Comparing the NRA to Nazis is also just plain goofy idiocy. When the NRA has it's own storm troopers, hundreds of thousands of NRA zealots out patrolling all of the cities in the land, shooting and beating to death anyone who even thinks about disagreeing with them then they will resemble the Nazis.
When Obama, nationalizes every single business and piece of private property in the land. When all the previous owners are either killed or put into a slave labour camp. When he repudiates the national debt and takes control of all capital, then you will know he is a communist.

Perhaps Mr. Schieffer has forgotten that Adolf Hitler SUPPORTED "gun control" laws, and was careful to disarm his populace when he got power. And then he started marching verious segments of his populace into crematoriums, along with the (disarmed) populaces that his armies conquered elsewhere.
Mr. Schieffer, do you REALLY want to bring up the subject of Nazis, when talking about Obama and "gun control"? Because, since you mention it, Obama's polices are much closer to those Hitler supported, than those that defeated him.

You are almost 100% incorrect about Hitler and gun laws. The Weimar republic had quite strict gun laws in place before Hitler came to power. The Nazis actually relaxed many of those laws, plus militarized the nation to the extent the vast majority of service aged men were walking around armed to the teeth.
Your comments are completely irrelevant. The red army was armed to the teeth and the Nazis killed more of them than anyone else. All of this crap about an armed population protecting it's self from the agents of the state is just plain stupidity. Just imagine for one minute armed civilians going up against hundreds of divisions of the best fighting forces ever seen on this earth and those forces are completely loyal to the commander in chief. Hitler had no fear of Germans with guns. Why would he?

That's right, Adolf kept the Jews completely disarmed. And then what did he do with them?
How successful do you think the Einsatzgruppen would have been if they had to walk up to closed doors in apartment blocks where Jews lived, aware that there was a good chance that somebody in that hallway, and maybe inside the door they were approaching, had a gun or three?
They still would have gotten a lot of the Jews to their waiting gas chambers. But a lot of the Special Action Unit folks would have died too, and their success rate would have been alot lower... along with their morale for keeping doing their jobs.
