One (1) person called him that. Do you really think that being a jock is a higher calling than President of the United States?

They served their country and were paid for that service.

I agree, RGIII is a far better role model that Obama. The arrogance from the Idiot-in-Chief is second to none. RGIII has handled himself well and carried himself even better this year.

Can you imagine if Obama ran the NFL? The Patriots would be sharing their points with the Jaguars. QBs would be told "You didn't throw that!". Attendance numbers would be fudged to make them look better than they are. There would never be a Superbowl as Obama would have divided everyone so much that they couldn't agree on where and when to play it.

Being paid a salary to do a JOB is not the same as sitting on your butt and collecting a welfare check even if both are funded by taxpayer money.

Soldiers are a lot different than your average lazy DMV worker.

He was raised by parents who worked hard and were employed by the government. I will tell you that on a military base is the very best place to raise a black child, especially a son. There you are allowed to instill values such as the following in your child instead of ghetto values.
Quote:
"For me, you don't ever want to be defined by the color of your skin,'' Griffin said at the end of Wednesday's post-practice news conference in reference to a question about Martin Luther King, Jr. "You want to be defined by your work ethic, the person that you are, your character, your personality. That's what I've tried to go out and do.

"I am an African-American in America. That will never change. But I don't have to be defined by that.''
If you talk to a black male military brat teenager they are more likely to spout this philosophy, which leads to future success, than their civilian counterparts. It helped immensely that their neighbors, both peers and parents, shared those values. Post housing generally wasn't as swank or big as we could get living in the economy but we did everything we could to get it for the peer groups. On a military installation, Army green refined you more than the color of your skin. And if you want any respect, a strong work ethic is a must.

Do you really think being President, or any other federal politician for that matter, is a person to be looked up to? someone to be viewed as a role model?
