Well I guess the political director for CBS news confirms they are completely behind Obama. It also sounds like a call to transform this nation into a totalitarian government. John Dickerson wrote:

"The president who came into office speaking in lofty terms about bipartisanship and cooperation can only cement his legacy if he destroys the GOP. If he wants to transform American politics, he must go for the throat."

The MSM media has abandoned even the slightest pretense of being anything but Obama supporters. They are openly devoted to wiping out conservatives, constitutionalists and others who oppose Obama's restructuring of America and it is dangerous.

Obama doesn't need to do that. The Tea Party will do it for him and is doing it for him (the GOP lost several House seats and possible control of the Senate because of the Tea Party).

Obama just needs to point and direct people to the Tea Party antics.

Sadly, this fiscal conservative agrees. We're witnessing an implosion.

As for the Senate, w/o the TP, the GOP would have been a lock to have held it from 2010 forward.

Of course, the GOP gained control of the House in the first place because of the Tea Party. I guess you forgot that part.

Can we have cheese with your baloney? The majority of 2010 gains were in seats held before ,predominantly, by the GOP Establishment. The Gingrich takeover map mirrored the 2010 takeover map. How'd he do it w/o a TP?

That Establishment sector would have thrived in 2010 w/o the TP. The TP was the guy jumping on a tackled opponent after he had been taken to the ground.

Sunday 11:55 am Obama is sworn in for the 2nd time. The Tea Party does own that. 7.9% unemployed, 14,7% U6, 1.5 trill deficit, and volla 2012 election mirrors 2008. Courtesy of the TP forcing GOP moderates and like minded independents away. Mission acoomplished, enjoy 11:55 am Sunday, TP.

The Dems should be required to calculate the campaign value the TP provided them. No one was as important to them. Not even Bill Clinton, or Obama himself.

The TP has created an environment where even an Al Gore or John Kerry would have won as a nominee for POTUS in 2012.

On the false basis of jobs and a low dem turnout. Then the nation saw that their agenda was just abortion, person hood, vaginal probes and legitimate rape bills and thats how we are here now with the Tea Party reputation in tatters and a disastrous approval rating of 32%. Its not like the nation didn't give these radical racist clowns a chance.

As usual, another dopey out-of-context thread, which is obvious if you had bothered to read the original article in Slate, and not just the "pre-digested" one repeated all over the RWNJ fever swamps.

The news director is simply explaining what a lot of Dems and others have been saying for awhile, that to be efffective this time around, Obama has to get in fightin' mode and "go for the throat", instead of his usual ''community organizer'', and ''can't we all just get along'' schtick that didn't serve him well during his first term. Since it's clear the Republicans ain't gonna cut him no slack, it's time he takes a more aggressive approach himself.

It's analogous to the criticism he received after his lame first debate with Romney... lose the ''Mr. Nice Guy'', it ain't working!
