First off my comments reflected how Phil started his career by benefitting off off taxes pay by others. Im fact, if you look at the chronology, the taxes rates were even higher when he utilized these government funded resources. Secondly, and along the lines, what is overtaxed? There is no way on earth he is paying 62 percent in taxes. That is total BS. He is adding up all total tax brackets but failing to calculate marginal rates, caps on Fica/Medicare, write-off of state taxes on Federal returns, monies earned outside of Califormina that would not be taxed under their jurisdiction. He pays nowhere close to 62 percent.

Lastly, he is complaining about paying taxes period. In the article it says the new tax rates (4 percent increase in Fed and three percent in Cali) is UNWORKABLE for him. His words ont mine. He makes by most estimates 60 mill a year. So a 7 percent increase on 60mil is unworkable?

Why would you think that a golfer has great insights?
Who cares?
May, may, may.

More poutrage.

Why the jealousy? Just because he earned millions being near the top of his profession? You only hate the man because he is white and your post history demonstrates considerable racism

His opinion certainly carries more weight than yours does fortunately

On tax issues? Maybe, on what iron to use on the 9th hole, but taxes? I don't think smacking a little white ball gives much weight to what someone thinks about taxes. Do novice/amateur golfers get their advice on tax laws from their local golf pro down at the country club? Oh, it's because he's got name-brand, isn't it? Yeah, I generally skip what the Krugman's of the world have to say about the economy, and go see what Tim Tebow thinks about this whole "cap and trade" fiasco.

Nice back tracking. You thought I wasn't white. You make all these claims about me based on my screen name and what you think you know. You love ad hominem attacks. Why do you think you are an Internet tough guy?

The "model of Texas" is to become like a 3rd world country. Texas has some of the worst poverty issues in the country. Furthermore you have the government increasingly cutting back on any safety net for the poor. If this continues before long Texas is going to look more like its Southern neighbor then it will look like California

Sigh. We don't think he has any keen insights, we sure as heck don't feel sorry for the guy.....but the point remains that if he moves to Florida, California is going to lose a couple million a year in state tax revenue.

Sure, he is in the minority and most won't leave CA over this.

However, there have been others including Tiger Woods and a host of less well know people that have also made the shift and it adds up.

It merely points to the larger issue of tax avoidance in the US and quite frankly the rest of the world.

Notice how all the people crying and moaning won't even discuss Denise Rich or her husband? They won't discuss that there is an entire banking and governmental alliance on a global scale to avoid the payment of taxes? The caymans? Ireland? Monaco?
