TEX - You have some good points about dealing with utilites and other powers that be. If the big boys cannot monopolize things that involve climate change they will simply not happen. Just try and sell a substantial amount of energy to a utility.

$$$$ is driving this, not the need to be more sustainable.

It's hard to do at a central level supporting millions but easier to do on an individual level.
But an individual level gets rid of the big corporate interests and a stream of steady revenue.

I realized it was all semi bogus when I inquired about solar panels and net metering with the electric company. Sure they would take the extra power I generated but would not compensate me.
It's also cost prohibitive to go all out off grid and you won't see a return of your investment for decades.

No, governments and corporates want you dependent on them. Being off grid doesn't do THEM any good and won't give them steady revenue.
This is pretty much the exact reason why I jumped off the climate change bandwagon. It was never about climate change, saving the planet, or being more sustainable. It's about ripping people off, and killing the poorest of the poor by depriving the 3rd world of much needed development that will actually lower their birth rate below replacement level. In the end, climate change as told by warmists is anti-poor, anti-science in the end of it all, and anti-human in general

The earth's climate is too complex for our best scientists to figure out, much less people reading this thread. Take el nino for example, our science does not know what causes them, we are reduced to observing them after the fact, and measuring the water temps with buoys so we can plot the effects.

El nino and la nina greatly effect the climate conditions and weather effects for all of North America, and we don't know what causes them. Nor do we know what determines the flow of the oceanic conveyor, which also greatly affects the climate and weather on planet earth.

The point is, there are a lot of things science cannot explain or understand, and man-induced CO2 being the cause of climate change is only a theory.

But when despotic dictators who rule over repressed populations are told they could receive billions of dollars from the UN in reparations for "climate justice," then they too climb on board the AGW, global warming, climate change bandwagon. Good luck to the repressed populations if they ever see more then a dime of that money.

But the rulers of those "repressed populations" will enjoy spending the $$$$ given to them.
Palaces, lavish parties, flying all over the world to attend GW meetings and conventions.

Yup, then they charge the locals that dime to go on a tour of the lavish palaces. LOL

Sad, but true.

has somebody forgotten to tell the liberal media, obama, the liberal left that climate change has always been here? no need to spend anymore money on a dead horse. after all, we do know that the governments plan to tax more on global warming has failed, and they now seek to tax more on climate change, but climate change has been here since before the USA or any other country has been around.

So what you are saying we should not learn more about what causes climate change and just let things be? Its lthe conservative answer to everything - just let things be where they are, and just let life go on as it is. No need to make an effort to learn and research new things and make progress.

Then go ahead and learn what causes it, don't tax us, don't shut down our power plants, and don't legislate based on it without knowing the full facts first.

It's not only a theory. There is a substantial amount of scientific evidence. There are some things that science can't explain, but the effect of man-made CO2 emissions on the environment is not one of them.
