More extremist hyperbole.

Quote:
The relevant section of the law, also known as Obamacare, is Section 1312 (f)(3), which reads:
"Access limited to lawful residents. If an individual is not, or is not reasonably expected to be for the entire period for which enrollment is sought, a citizen or national of the United States or an alien lawfully present in the United States, the individual shall not be treated as a qualified individual and may not be covered under a qualified health plan in the individual market that is offered through an Exchange.
And the fines for not buying that "$20,000" policy are between $695 & $3,000 depending upon your Net Income.

IRS: Cheapest Obamacare Plan Will Be $20,000 Per Family

I seem to recall that, when conservatives proposed tax rate cuts, liberals would immediately ask how the conservatives expected government to "pay for" those tax cuts. At least, the liberals who forgot that lowering tax rates has historically resulted in increasing economic activity and MORE revenue, immediately asked that.

But government taking an additional $20,000 from each family every year, has no prospects of increasing those families' economic output.

How do the liberals who put this in place, propose that who have barely kept their budgets balanced before, pay this additional $20,000/year?

Shared Responsibility Payment for Not Maintaining Minimum Essential Coverage - PDF

Example 2. Married employee with dependents. Taxpayers B and C are married and file a joint return for 2016. B and C have two children, D and E. In November 2015, B is eligible to enroll in self-only coverage under a plan offered by B’s employer for calendar year 2016 at a cost of $5,000 to B. C, D, and E are eligible to enroll in family coverage under the same plan for 2016 at a cost of $20,000 to B. B, C, D, and E’s household income is $90,000. Under paragraph (e)(3)(ii)(A) of this section, B's required contribution is B's share of the cost for self-only coverage, $5,000. Under paragraph (e)(1) of this section, B has affordable coverage for 2016 because B’s required contribution ($5,000) does not exceed 8 percent of B’s household income ($7,200). Under paragraph (e)(3)(ii)(B) of this section, the required contribution for C, D, and E is B's share of the cost for family coverage, $20,000. Under paragraph (e)(1) of this section, C, D, and E lack affordable coverage for 2016 because their required contribution ($20,000) exceeds 8 percent of their household income ($7,200).
I'll admit it. I'm dumb. How does the example show that the family will have to pay $20K for healthcare?

You need the Republican calculator.

But the illegals will get it for free! Sure, let's let more of them in!
Americans are going to be living in the streets and the illegals will be moving into your
house!

Ahhhh

Now it makes sense. Illegals use our emergency rooms for their healthcare. If Obama succeeds in his amnesty he thinks even the legal illegals will have to opt in to Obamacare.

Quit chirping about sources. Maybe if you read it you would see where it came from.

So people can choose to pay 20K for insurance or pay a $2,300 penalty? And how is spending 20% of one's earnings on one item "affordable"? I am lucky to have insurance through an employer who defrays part of the cost. If that goes away, I can't afford to spend 20% or even 10% of my income for insurance. That $2,300 may be my best option.

Holy crap, my premium has risen -- I haven't experienced Obama's predicted 3000% drop...I hope it happens soon!
