Would you agree that a min wage should be enough for an individual worker to live off?

To cover at least the basics, ie: food , single room, utilities and bus fare to work.

Some people think not.

should it be abolished so that these workers have to live like 3rd World workers?

because if they lifted it then richer folk, including the middle classes, would lose their comparative wealth advantage.

They don't want that happening.

Who's going to work for minimum wage when they can make more on welfare?

Minimum wage destroys jobs. A healthy economy supports people of all skill and experience levels. Unfortunately, the liberal-destroyed economy of the USA has shipped all the low-skill and low-experience jobs overseas to countries that appreciate putting everyone to work, not just the college educated.

When was the last time you pulled into a gas station for fuel, and somebody came out and asked if you wanted your windshield washed, tires inflated, and oil and engine-cooling fluid checked?

Such jobs are no longer done, at all. Because min-wage laws made it necessary for the gas station owner to raise his gas prices so much to pay the guy washing your windshield, that you would go to the station down the street instead, whose gas prices are a LOT lower and nobody washed your windshield.

Because YOU (not the station owner) decided that the extra money for gas, was more than you wanted to pay to get your windshield washed, tires checked etc.

A few states, once the min-wage law destroyed jobs like these, have made even more laws to try to make up for the effects of the previous law, forcing gas stations to employ people to pump your gas. At that (higher) minimum wage, natch. All of those stations have higher gas prices than they would have had if they hadn't compounded laws upon more laws upon more laws, trying to undo the damage the previous laws did.
Every time, well every time someone comes out and pumps my gas for me, sometimes you get the guy who goes the extra mile and I always tip him, but then again that is the beauty of living in Oregon or New Jersey.

The trick is to make sure that a FT min wage job does pay more than welfare.

Those who oppose min wage are lacking clear insight here.

because we can guarantee that if min wage were abolished then the nefarious 'race to the bottom' (regarding wages) will occur.

This will realise your objection (Retroit) and will most certainly ensure that Welfare IS more profitable for the individual.

So, a very unsatisfactory outcome.

Therefore, min wage is essential

When you pay someone below a living wage, it makes more sense for that person to live on welfare where they will receive a living lifestyle. You want people to work over being on welfare (which most people on welfare actually work) then we need to start paying people a minimum living wage or higher.

Exactly.

Now I think minimum wage should always be more than what people get on welfare. I think thats one of the big problems today.

Minimum wage is suppose to be a stepping stone to a job where you can earn a decent living. Not something you can live off for the rest of your life.
Minimum wager earners don't pay tax.
