Since there is a slavery thread, let's discuss the impact of the USSR on the USA.
Suppose the Bolsheviks never got the supporters, and the white army was successful in keeping the peace. The Royal Bloodline of the Tsar continued on, and the then newly installed government remained in charge.

How different would things be?
One thing for sure, things would be different.
They would be VERY different.
A considerable number of current Americans would not be living in America - they would live in Russia or Eastern Europe.
There probably would not have been a 1924 Immigration Act, which IMO was a very bad law. Or at least there would not have been such a law severely restricting continental European immigration in 1924, with less Eastern European immigration to bother the nativists.
There would have almost certainly been laws prohibiting Asian immigration, given the racism of the era, but continental European immigration would probably not have been restricted until the Depression, and even then said laws would have been repealed much sooner.
Of course the biggest change would have been no Hitler - a massive, massive change. And likewise no Mussolini and no Franco. It's possible, though, that Communism might have taken hold in Germany with no USSR.

And no fear mongering, paranoid, drunk Senator from Wisconsin seeing boogeymen behind every bush.
Consider this. If there had never been Communism in Russia, then there would be no Cold War. The USA would be vastly different because during the Cold War, the USA was building so many airplanes and submarines. Our manufacturing would have been different.
If Russia had not had Communism/Dictatorship, then Germany might have defeated it and its weak czar in WWII. If that's so, would D-Day have happened? If not, then would Churchill and Roosevelt have brokered a peace with Hitler? Would Hitler have accepted a truce?
Curious...
One thing about Russia's dictatorship at the time, it produced a formidable war machine in a very short time.
