Threads like this show that conservatives have lost the argument about the size of government.

conservatives make these vague irrelevant arguments about the government being too big but when conservatives are asked about specific big government programs, they support them ALL.

Social security, medicare, medicaid, military spending, etc, conservatives support every big government program that exists.

Instead, conservatives attack the people who receive the benefits of big government as frauds, lazy, criminals, cheats, etc.

In other words, conservatives don't attack specific big government spending, they attack some of the groups of Americans who benefit from those programs.

So if you are poor single mom, the conservatives are crapping on you accusing you of being a bad immoral lazy person. If you are an illegal immigrant conservatives are crapping on you calling you a lazy criminal who has anchor babies.

If you use Medicaid, or SSDI, or food stamps or EITC, the conservatives are crapping on you calling you a fraud a cheater, lazy.

This appeals to conservative voters, who hate all of those groups of Americans, but it alienates many other voters.

I never realized how many wackos observe what people buy at the grocery store.

And from your posts, you claim to be a christian .

very sad.
For real. I wonder what people are really thinking about my cart...based on some of those posts in this forum, some of them must label me a hippy. Ha ha.

You do know they only get so much don't you? It's not like they can buy the prime rib and lobster and then just send the government a bigger bill

BTW, are we including stuff like canned lobster bisque here?

imo, I have seen these type posters (the same on here) who also post how their hubby drinks single malt scotch and 'life is good'....yet, These people are envious of poor families shopping with food stamps.

So, the logical deduction is, these people (and they are christian) spend a great deal of time envying others. (even the very poor and disabled).
Either they are minimally paid shills, or, filled with animosity because their life is not what they are pretending it is on here.

Either way, they are spewing noxious bs.

Then many "Christians" wonder why some are being drawn to other religions...particularly ones that certain folks spend half of their lives labeling as "evil." And of course, the other half of their lives are spent spew animosity at homosexuals and people who are pro-choice. Lord have mercy on us.

Don't know what it is so hard for these folks to understand that you get x amount per month and that however you put together the mix of purchases, at the end of the month the total still comes to x.

This is so well said, there's little to add to it. It's a wonderful post. Thank you.

It's funny how that works. In one thread they're struggling to make ends meet because of a poor economy and moochers. In another thread they'll say their house, car and everything is paid for and that they pay some ginormous amount of taxes because they make enough money from their businesses or rental properties to put them in a higher tax bracket. They all put themselves through college (with no help) or saved enough money to start a business (with no help - but we all know THEY DIDN'T BUILD THAT lol), they waited until marriage to lose their virginity, never paid a bill late or made in impulse buy. I think some of these CD posters must live in Stepford.

Oh and despite their success and perfect lives, they are always running into some person who is buying expensive cuts of meat and seafood on EBT cards, then packing it up in a luxury vehicle while wearing an Obama jacket, a rolex and talking on a iphone paid for by the government and if the person isn't black, they are suspected to be an illegal immigrant who voted for Obama 10 times in five different states.

I rarely agree with you but for once we are in total agreement. Even at the max payout we're talking only about $1.30 per meal and 75% of the people get only $0.60 per meal. We're talking about, almost entirely, single mothers with dependent children. Sure, a tiny faction of those single mothers are the "sluts" which conservatives love to throw feces at all day but at least half (more if there is more than one child) are children who surely are blameless no matter who their parents were or what their failings were.

Yet to hear it from our right wing bigots those single moms are living the life of Ryan with nothing but steak and lobster on the dinner table. Correct me if I am wrong, but, $0.60 doesn't exactly buy much steak & lobster.
