Like I said, the title is incorrect. The rest of the original post is correct. Address the original post and ignore the title. Is owning a magazine that holds 11+ rounds a simalure crime as the crimes listed here New York Class D Felonies - New York Penal Law
Wrong again.
Possessing a magazine that size is a misdeamor. Child molestation is a felony.
Well that is a red herring fallacy. I mean you should judge a law only on its impact and need.
No Chris, once again you miss the whole point. And it's very simple really .... it's literal insanity to prosecute and punish a person for having one extra bullet in an otherwise legal weapon to a greater extent than you'd punish an actual criminal who has committed an act of violence against another, up to and including sexual assault and even negligent homicide.
It is absolutely frightening that any walking, talking, breathing human being fails to immediately recognize this rather simple concept. Truthfully ... it's demonstrative of mental incompetence.
The title is a lie and the claims are lies. Possessing magazines 11 rounds is a misdeamor, not a felony
Actually, it is unlawful for any 10 round or smaller magazine to contain in excess of 7 rounds under the new law.
The reason for this is simple ... most semiautomatics have a standard capacity of 8 or more rounds, which is no accident that the number 7 was chosen ... a quasi effective ban on sales of most semi-autos made today.
Liberals ... a treacherous bunch of ant-american scum for which the founders had in mind when adding the second amendment.

Actually you are wrong again. It is a misdemeanor of you load a 10 round magazine that you owned before the ban with more than 7 rounds. It is a class D felony if you have a magazine that holds 11+ rounds. Recently a vet had a few hi cap mags in New York, now he is facing up to 7 years in prison, but remember, this is all for the children. MILLER: N.Y. vet arrested for 30-round magazines (Part 1) - Washington Times
The fundimental arguement is still the same. An inimate object is legal one day...and illegal the next. Ownership of that object is now a felony. With of course no compensation for the owner. That is RIGHT in what universe?
New York has turned into a complete craphole. It was bad when I left 2 decades ago, but has really tanked in the last decade.
LOL what the hell? When was the last time you've been to NYC? Two decades ago New York was one of the most violent cities in the country, now it is one of the most safest. NYC is about as safe as Portland, Oregon now. In fact, 2012 had the lowest number of murders since the NYC records began.
For an example – a standard capacity 13-round magazine for a 9mm SIG Sauer P229 or any magazines holding more than 11 rounds is and will be a Class D Violent Felony, even for owners who possessed large capacity magazines prior to Sept. 1994 when possession was grandfathered
Listed below are a few crimes in New York that are class E felonies and A misdemeanors which are one or two arrest levels below a class D felony.
120.70 – Luring a child | E Felony
121.11 – Criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation | A Misdemeanor
125.10 – Criminally negligent homicide | E Felony
130.20 – Sexual misconduct | A Misdemeanor
130.25 – Rape 3rd degree | E Felony
130.40 – Criminal sexual act 3rd degree | E Felony
130.52 – Forcible touching | A Misdemeanor
130.53 – Persistent sexual abuse | E Felony
Congratulations.
