I did some research into a question that struck me one night as I wondered if baby boomers were getting too much grief. I researched "Generation Y, The Internet Generation, the Millenniums" and the who, what where, how & why.
Depending on the source (obviously), this new generation is moving forward, but certainly not within the standards of past generations who are worried that the programs set in place, as well as the planning for the future, will not come to fruition thanks to the character of the Gen Y.
So, then, is this a good thing, or a bad thing?
(PS - I happen to work for Gen Y managers, with Gen Y colleges, but ostensibly would consider myself under employed).

It sounds like you are just unhappy that you wish you were farther along in life, but these younger people are at least equal...and surpassed you in life. Envy is an ugly thing, you should spend time fixing this rather then complaining.
Ours is the generation most affected by the recession that older generations caused in 2008. Most of us grew up in broken families, suffered through chronic unemployment that boomer's and Xers never encountered, and are now straddled with debt because most of us attended or will attend college.
I think we are going to be quite a humble generation. My bets are that we will be more similar to the way the boomer's parents were.

lets see...the two most important social events that have happened in my life time are 9/11 and the subsequent economic slow down. certainly related, imo.
If they stay on their I phones contributing to and voting for crooks like obama they will get what they deserve an apartment in moms basement and a job a foot locker
